This is a well-researched book, but the level of detail is somewhat excessive, e.g., all the history of craigslist and how it came to be. Not really necessary in a user’s manual. Just paging through the book as I write these words, I found five pages of “common real estate industry terms.” Does someone posting a real estate listing or perusing the listings on craigslist really need all this? I think not. I’d've liked to see more — and better — html formatting instructions. This topic gets exactly one page, with no screenshots to show the results of using specific codes. The “community” metaphor is a little strained, e.g., describing how to navigate craigslist as “getting around town,” or specific sections of the home page as, for example, “the town square.” We get it, it’s an online community; no need to belabor the point. One big gripe is the tiny screenshots. Given the number used in this book, it would definitely have benefited from a larger format to accommodate larger screenshots.

I have to admit that I thought that Craigslist was merely a job finding website. In fact, before, reading Craigslist 4 Everyone, I had only read job ads at Craigslist, following links from other sites. I had never even actually browsed the site. I had simply assumed that it was a job hunting site like Monster.ca and that I’d have to sign up to actually reply to any of the ads.
Imagine my surprise when I realized what I’ve been missing. Craigslist has a wide variety of communities. There’s everything from job and resume through discussion and personals to sales and services sections. Moreover, most of the postings are free of charge and searchable by City.
Craigslist 4 Everyone summarizes all the best aspects of Craigslist. It tells you how easy it us to get started and most importantly how to stay safe and spam-free.

I would recommend anyone to read this book if using craiglist. More thorough explaination. Great gift for friends or just for yourself.

If you aren’t using craiglist to sell, buy or promote, your event, your business or yourself, I think you maybe missing out on one of the most effective, inexpensive tools on the Web…and this book is one of the best resources to tell you how to most efficiently leverage your energy on craigslist.
Ironically, while I think craiglist is one of the most effective, inexpensive ways to sell or buy items on the Web, find employees or employment, get updates on events, or find people of like interests, in addition to promoting your business or commercial endeavors, there are very few good “How To” books on the subject. Lloyd’s book is the best I’ve found as a well written, informational guide on how to get the most from the international phenomena that is craigslist. The book is created in a unique way so as not to intimidate the beginner, but also to “fill in the blanks” or suggest new ideas for those who have some experience using craigslist. With all of the visibility and buzz about social media and networking, which usually promotes Facebook, LinkedIn and other clearly commercial type services, I think craiglist is still one of the most underrated, cost effective [usually free or very close to free in all cases] online communities for participating and transacting personal and business activities, and Ms. Lloyd’s book is, quite simply, the best beginner/intermediate primer on how to get the most out of, and leverage visibility on, this overwhelming popular and effective craiglist community.

I had never really used Craigslist before I picked up this book so I really didn’t have anything to compare it as to it’s accuracy or usability. After all, a well designed Web application SHOULD be usable even without any directions, right? Well, some aren’t and some are just so plain that it looks like a laundry list of everything you DIDN’T want to know about a location; or maybe everything you DID want to know but didn’t know how to find.
After visiting Craigslist online I found that it is rather like looking at a laundry list, or maybe just a spreadsheet of things you may want to find about a location. But after reading this book I learned that there are lots of very useful things you can use Craigslist to find and being useful is a good thing for a Web application or it will soon no longer to on-line.
I found this book very easy to use with explanations well illustrated and no “geek-speak” to speak of. In fact, using this as my guide, I was able to find a potential client listed that I would never have found anywhere else.
So if you have ever wanted to know what all Craigslist can do for you, then pick up this easy read.

I currently own a 3rd generation honda accord with a manuel transmission and I’m saving up for something that would be more suited for a new driver. Although I really dont like automatic transmissions.

I have been using a rewriting software to crank out my essays and term papers. It even has built in features to check your paper against copyscape which all professors use to make sure your essay looks unique. I just regret I didn’t hear about this until my final year. We have a confession to make. We’ve been smitten with this car since first stumbling across it on Fantasy Junction earlier this year. The 1953 Siata 208S you see above is one of 35 ever created, and this particular example has an unmatched ownership pedigree. Its first owner was none other than Cool himself, Steve McQueen. If that’s not enough to send your eyebrows to your hairline, have a listen to the little roadsters specs. Under the hood you’ll find a Fiat 2.3-liter V8 that has been reworked to produce around 137 horsepower at the rear wheels. There’s no word on how much the thing weighs, but we’re guessing the figure is somewhere between packing peanuts and meringue. Pure. Driving. Joy.

Awesome post! I’ve been trying to come up with a good internet business idea for a while. Instead, I have come up with a great non-internet business idea, which kind of sucks in a way because this idea requires a lot of money, as opposed to a full internet-based business that might not require that much to get it started. I’m not giving up though. I recently started a blog where I plan to document my steps for starting my company. I figured it would keep me motivated and force me to keep at it. I also hope it will motivate the readers to keep trying to accomplish their goals. By the way, I love your site. I’ll be adding it to my list of interesting blogs.

MG has its eyes set on the juicy Chinese small hatch segment, and the company’s first crack at the market debuted in the form of Zero Concept at this year’s Beijing Motor Show. At shave over 13 feet long, the pint-sized five-door is designed to offer up more style than space. MG says the vehicle was penned by Anthony Williams, the brand’s British director of design, and offers drivers a unique interior loaded with your standard concept-tech. The Zero boasts a floating center console, complete with touch screen controls, as well as some kind of communication system on the rear of the vehicle. Yeah, we don’t get that part, either.
